What to Consider When Planning to Rent a Condominium

If you're planning to rent a condominium unit, there are a few things you need to know before choosing one. There are many properties out there, but of course, they are not all the same. Some will be more favorable for you and some won't.

 

The fees, for example, make up one important part of condo living. Ask your potential landlord if you have to pay condo association fees separately or as part of your monthly rent. These fees often cover the use of any facilities that are shared among residents, landscaping, security, building repairs, etc. This is perfectly legit, of course, but you still need to go over the lease contract before signing it. You'll never what's in there that might not be agreeable to you.

 

When you live in a fairway terraces dmci condo, there are some utilities which are shouldered by the association, and there are those that you need to pay for on your own as a tenant. For example, water, gas, and garbage removal are usually included in the association fees, but all the rest will be billed to you. Again, know what exact bills you will be paying before you sign the lease contract.

If you have pets, remember that condo associations usually have policies regarding pet ownership in the building. Also check with your landlord. The association may allow pets, but your landlord may not. Amenities are also a factor to consider. If you lift weights, for example, find a condo with a gym (most properties do) instead of going to another gym where you'll have to pay the fees. Condos with gyms will usually let you use the facility for free. If you have a kid, find a condo with a daycare service.

 

Finally, always study your options before deciding which condominium to rent. There are many choices, but they are unique from each other, and you need to know what makes them so. This way, you can decide more wisely as to which unit or building is the best for you.
